A Mayo-trained cardiologist who believes the best medicine starts with a good conversation.
Dr. Tom Showers spent the last two decades in large health systems watching patients get eight minutes, a prescription, and a “come back in six months.” He opened Jacksonville Cardiovascular Specialists to do it differently — with longer visits, direct phone access, and care plans built around each patient’s life, not a template.
His clinical focus is preventive and interventional cardiology, with particular interest in atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and cardiac imaging. He trained at Duke, completed fellowship at Mayo Clinic, and has been practicing in the Southeast since 2006.
